There are many parts of the world where poor women lack access to even the most basic health care. In rural central America, e.g., indigenous women live in conditions that have not changed much since the Spanish arrived 500 years ago. In these areas, Christian missionaries set up clinics to help educate women on pre-natal care and preparation for labor and delivery. Missionaries provide medicine, assistance, and housing before and after delivery. Click here to help a pregnant mother safely deliver her child.
